A natural hot spring that intermittently ejects a column of water and steam into the air.
Notes:
Waiotapu (Maori word for "sacred waters") is a living geothermal area at the southern end of the Okatainavolcanic centre, just north of the ReporoaCaldera, in New Zealand's Taupo volcanic zone. It is 27 kilometres south of Rotorua.
