C.A.R.E Value - Attitude - Task 7 - Google Geek.

Another care award attitude DLO I did was about a pay it forward task. I talked about some aspects in Google. Mainly in Google drive. The three I did was the create/new button, share button and the folder button as well.

C.A.R.E Value - Attitude - Task 4 - Tupac Shakur.

For one of our care values we had to write about someone who faced difficult struggles in life. But even though they had struggles they would still have a positive attitude. The person I did was Tupac Shakur. Some reasons are in the DLO.

Working with my critical friend.

In writing with room 5, we've been working with a critical friend. My critical friend today was Sebastian. To me, my critical friend helps me look at my writing and helps me work on what I need work on. We use the rubric to help us out if we're stuck. My critical friend also helps us edits our work and uses comments to reach to us. They add feedback and feed forward when they edit. I get a lot fixed when I work with my critical friend.

Digital Tech.

In tech today we were learning on how to make a good platformer game. First we had to notice the features in other platformer games and use them for an example. Afterwards we had to send ideas of a topic we would do for our platformer game. Most people voted for sleeping for mine. We are still developing skills we could add in the game. I am looking forward to making my platformer game and can't wait for people to play it.

Point Blanc.

This novel I'm currently reading is called Point Blanc. It is by Anthony Horowitz and is part of the Alex Rider series. For this book, I nominate Wiremu because he likes reading Alex Rider books.

Today we did the shakeout drill. Schools through out NZ did it as well, so it was pretty special. Joshua and I created an animated DLO to show the juniors what to do if an earthquake occurs.

Scammers.

When Miss Paton came today to teach us about scammers we learnt what kind of scammers are there. We also learnt about how to handle them in different situations. We created a DLO and listed how scammers can communicate and how to avoid them.

Term 4 Goal Settings.

For the first week of term 4 we decided to do goal settings. Here are my goals and how I can improve on them. Hopefully by the end of the term or testing my results can go up from last time.

Food for thought.

Today this time we learnt about food for thought. Adele, our teacher for this session taught us about how much meat we're supposed to have, and what we should eat occasionally. We ordered sugars in the drink from less to most, and sorted out which cereals have most and less sugars in them. Today I found out a lot about what we eat.

Vending Machine Problem.

For this this problem I used multiplication and my fraction knowledge. I was working with Wiremu and we managed to do 2 strategies. The second strategy was the quickest. I came up with another problem you could try figure out - In 1 lollie there are bag 11 pieces of sour grape bubblegum. The other 1/2 of the bag are strawberry flavoured. How much strawberry flavoured bubblegum are there?

Cybersmart + Smart Relationships - Privacy.

This time for smart relationships we did privacy. I wrote about things you have to avoid before signing up for social media sites. When you sign up, make sure you ask your parents first, and also make sure your age is allowed.

Cybersmart + Smart Relationships - Smart Money.

Smart Money by Anthony Paula Peau Mapalei Tui on GoAnimate
Today Ms Paton talked to us about how to handle scamming. We watched a video from Paul Henry and how he busted a scammer. Scamming is dangerous because it can lead to viruses on your phone or computer. The number 1 rule is to not giveaway any personal information. e.g; Address, Credit card details, and don't giveaway your name.

Speech Plan.

For writing we had to plan for speeches that would be happening throughout the whole school. My speech is based on role models and my point of view of what we should think of them. I still need to finish off my opinion and need to give an one more explanation.

Chicken, Fox and Corn.

In maths we did a question sort of riddle. We had to take the chicken, fox and corn across the river but however you can only take one. If you take the chicken, then the fox, you can't because of the fox will   eat the chicken. But if you take the corn then chicken, that won't work either because the chicken will eat the corn. So that was the question we had to answer.

Hockey 2015.

In hockey I learnt how to juggle and dribble. The other thing I learnt was which side of the stick is the right way to hit and pass. Today was cool, but unfortunately was our last. We had a blast with Lidia and enjoyed it. Looking forward to next time.

Multiplication 7-9.

My times tables test was coming up and this was the photo I used to remind me of my 7-8 times tables. I know it well, it was just I was a bit rusty. Our next test will be 9 times tables.

Paul Cezanne artwork.

Here is my artwork I did in class. It's based on Paul Cezanne's copy. I don't know the name of the title but the original looks really good. The original was done on canvas and was an oiled painting. I thought this would be easy but it was harder then I thought.

Current Events - Prisoner escapes from prison.

Here is an update on my current events. This is the last time we will be doing this kind of current events with the thinking hats. My current events presentation is about a prisoner escaping prison. The name of the person escaing was Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman. Right now he is being labeled one of Mexico's most dangerous criminals.
