Mad Scientist.

Hi my name is Mad Scientist, I take science to a whole new level.

I like Green and Purple potions because they mix things up a bit.

My favourite colour is orange because not only is it a colour,

but you can eat it as well. My favourite passion about science is making

things that are furious. Most people don’t believe that I am a great scientist, but one day I’ll prove them wrong. My hobbies are Science and like staring at clouds, because it looks like the smoke bubbling out of my potions.

My worst mistake.

Worst Mistake

The worst mistake I ever did was when I dropped a bowl of M&M's when my mum just finished vacuuming. I was walking to the computer to listen to music and tripped over, I tried to keep the bowl balanced but it fell. My mum came to see what was going on. When she came to look at the mess I already knew I was in trouble.

She called my brother to get the wooden spoon. Soon my brother came with the spoon and I got a smack. Later on I had to pick and search for all the M&M’s that dropped earlier. After I picked it up I threw it in the bin. Now when I walk I search the floor before I trip.

Holiday Reading Challenge - Recommendation - Weirdo.

I would recommend this book to Wiremu because is pretty funny having his name Weirdo. The book is about a boy named Weirdo going to a new school and he's trying to fit in. He discusses how weird his family can be and how he got his name. Later on in the book he meets a girl named Bella but is too shy to talk to her.

Otai

Otai

On special occasions, Tongan people like to make a drink called otai. Otai can be made from apple or mango, but the traditional flavour is watermelon. Otai is really good when it is cold.

Otai is best to drink when it’s cold, you add ice to make it fresh and cold. You can create otai in a bucket, cup or a jug. Most people prefer jugs. When you make otai you can use a fork or a grater to grate the apple, the fork is for watermelon and mango. There are many things you can serve with this.

Watermelon is best served with breakfast crackers, same with apple and mango. Otai is served with coconut, but my Mum puts in fruit salad instead of coconut though. My mum’s ingredients are watermelon, apple and mango, it depends on the kind of otai you’re making. For watermelon it’s sugar, crackers, a watermelon, passion fruit, water, cream and fruit salad. This is a good dish for special occasions.

On special occasions this is well known to be popular dish, mango or watermelon is mostly the star drink. My mum makes the otai in my house. She makes nice ones most of the time, but only when she’s in a good mood. It usually takes 8 to 10 minutes. If a party is going on Tongan people like to make a drink called otai. Otai can be made from apple or mango, but the traditional flavour is watermelon. I love otai because it’s delicious. My favourite flavour is apple.

Man vs Wild

Man vs Wild is a series of episodes which includes Bear Grylls. The genre of the series is adventure and is PG. Bear travels around the world to show you how to survive in cases of matter. Bear trained in the Indian military and made his show. Bear Grylls has been to New Zealand, Greenland and Aussie.  

Bear sets himself goals to achieve survival. He shows what kind of food you eat and how to build shelter. In one episode he was in Greenland and he was in a snowy desert and took all his clothes off to stay warm. Also one time he was in the desert and drank his own wee-wee.  

Bear Grylls is 40 years of age and his series have ended. He lives in England and has 3 children.

Basketball explanation.

Basketball

To play basketball, you have to have two players or more. Basketball is a simple game that includes a basketball, a hoop, backboard and a court. Some people start playing basketball at a very young age, and work towards a basketball career.

In a professional basketball team, the maximum number of players is 15.  On your team you have to have at least one point guard, a shooting guard, small forward, power forward and a center. Point guard is someone who is athletic, and that can pass well and someone who has good ball handling skills. Shooting guard is a guy or girl who is good at shooting. Small forward is a position who run to the corners and wait for 3 pointers or rebounds.  A power forward is known for low blocks and getting in to the post. Center is the player who stays near the baseline and gets most of the rebounds.

To be a point guard or center position you need to have equipment. Your equipment allows you to be more active on the floor or off. One of them is good sports shoes.  Good shoes allow you to get a higher vertical jump and also make you look cool. Nike, Jordan, Converse, Under Armour and Reeboks are some of the best brands of shoes. If you want you can get arm sleeves, a headband, knee pads/sleeves or wristbands and ankle braces.

Equipment can also make you go quicker or higher at shooting, running or dunking. Some people can score on the buzzer.  In basketball you can get any amount of points to win the game.  There is no minimum amount of players to play basketball, but if it’s one-on-one the score is set to 21. In the NBA 12 minutes is played for 4 quarters. If it’s a draw then it’s overtime for 3 or 5 minutes.  Until there is a winner.

Basketball is played with two player or more. Basketball is an easy simple game. You at least need a hoop, backboard, a basketball and you have to play on a court. People who are very young can play basketball.  I like playing this game with my cousins.

I remember as if it were yesterday.

I remember as if it was yesterday when I had finished in Kindergarten. It was my last day of preschool, I was 4 and was very excited. When I went through the doors everybody had set up a party. All the 4 yr olds got a party on their last day. I got lollies, a hat and stickers.

At the beach Helen and Aiden were walking on the sand. They passed seashells and rocks. They walked through the water and swam.

Here is my timestables progress from T1 to T2 to T3. I have worked on my timestables and have improved each Friday we do this. My current highest time is 1:02, which is 62 secs. My favourite time table is the 0 times table because you just have to write 0.

The wild horses in New Zealand are called Kaimanawa horses.

They’ve big muscles and are buff. They adapt quickly and don’t eat a lot. It’s a great pony.	They’re rare and could be extinct. You can’t ride any wild horses. Big herds of the horses can damage landscapes can damage plants.	The horses are quiet. The horses were here since 1876. The breed  has a wide range of heights, body patterns and colours.

Worst day of my life

My worst day had been when I was about 5. The worst day of my life was a long traffic jam. It was hot and we were heading of to a hotel to pick my uncle and aunt up so we could go cruising. We were waiting in the car for a long period of time. 15 minutes later I was sleeping in the hot car. When we left it was around 12 or 11.

Finally at around 1 we moved up and went straight to Mcdonalds for a ice-cream. Then we went for a cruise and shopping. It was the worst day of my life because I was asleep during the ice-cream and shopping.

The most favourite movie is Ted. I think it is the favourite, because its funny. Anthony and I personally like We’re the Millers and I am gutted that it came second to last. We're the Millers came a tie with Karate Kid. I think a lot of people choose Frozen because it was the Highest Animated Grossing Film which means it raised a lot of money.Next time I would choose better movies in all genres, so people just don’t choose Other. Pitch Perfect is the least favourite movie because I don’t think many people like musicals.

Evaluation activity L2 T1. How to fish fish eels.

Eeling Procedure

Equipment:

- A rope

- Sack

- Kerosene lamp

- Sheep guts

Method:

1. Connect the long rope to one side of the rope.
2. After connecting the long rope, use the other side of the rope to tie the lamp.
3. Put all the guts in the sack.
4. Lower the sack into the the water.
5. Turn the lamp on so you can see the eel.
6. The eel will be attracted to the light and go into the sack.
7. When the eel is inside the sack lift the rope a carefully.

My special place report.

TONGA

When I was growing up as a kid, every holiday my family and I would go to Tonga. We’d go to Tonga and meet my cousin’s there. We’d always leave early and enjoy a great time on the plane. We saw a lot of tourists on the plane. Tonga had nice oceans, lots of people who clean and awesome food!

Once we arrived at Tonga you could feel the heat coming, so since there’s a nice big ocean we decided to go for a swim. In my opinion Tonga’s beach was the nicest beach I’ve ever swimmed in. I loved swimming there and leaping off the wharf. I especially loved swimming with my cousin’s and siblings because they were so funny and fun. We’d only stay there for about two hours or else we would get sick.

Some weekends and weekdays we we would go cruise around town. In Tonga cleaning is a habit for every woman/mother in Tonga, Mum’s do the cleaning and Dad’s do the cooking. Every house we saw there would be at least one mum cleaning outside their house with a broom. My auntie would always sweep or mop. If we messed up we would get a smack.

Every night we wouldn’t go sleep starving, my uncle always made dinner. He made casava, soup and sometimes a dish called Lou. Before dinner we always pray and say thank you after we eat. If there’s a special occasion we occasionally roast a pig but sometimes horse. When we roast it we start a fire, get a really long stick.

When I was a kid I loved staying in Tonga, to me it was better than New Zealand. I loved swimming, eating and cleaning with my aunties and uncles. I wish I could go visit them now and hopefully stay in Tonga. In the future I’ll most likely go to Tonga if I have children or not, just for the fun of it.

Chippie packets in room 6.

Chippie Packets In Room 6

This is a line chart on how many chippie packets room 6 has brought in over 3 days. On the first day room 6 brought in 14 chippie packets. The next day we brought in less chippie packets with a total 13. On the last day unfortunately room 6 had brought in 18 non recyclable chippie packets the highest of the 3 days.

Altogether room 6 brought in 45 chippie packets over the three days. The line chart is very mixed it went from high to low to very high.

Room 6 need to work on bringing naked food and less chippie packets. If every class brought in 45 chippie packets over a year there would be 585 chippie packets coming out of Panmure Bridge School.

My holiday reading report.

Holiday Reading Report

On our final week at school the year seven and eights teachers told them to read three novels over the holidays as a challenge. We chose one Duffy Book, one library book and one random book. We had to do activities with our novels including take picture, design the cover and dress up as a character, then after put it on your blog.

In the holidays I read a book called The Hunger Games. This adventure book is set in the future in a place called Panem in North America.  It is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen. For my activity I decided to rewrite the ending of the story. I chose to rewrite the ending because I didn’t really like the original one. I decided to make Katniss kill Peeta so she could stay with her boyfriend.

The next book I read was named Dead Harry, it’s a mystery story. It is about a boy named Sam. His friend Harry has been murdered by someone. I wanted to draw another cover design for the book because the other cover doesn’t show Sam’s face. This book was set in New Zealand.

When I finished my activities I put my it on my blog, such as The Hunger Games and Dead Harry. I only completed half of the activity but I still did two, some people didn’t even bother to read. I thinked I’ve improved on my subjects and have gone up a level.

Why Your ending is better: My ending is better because there my ending has one Hunger Games winner.

Theme:

What I think should happen: Katniss Everdeen should win the whole Hunger Games by herself and spear Peeta's life. But should still have a secret love story.
